Triples Monitors, how? what? when? why? 2024 Screen Guide

Triples Monitors, how? what? when? why? 2024 Screen Guide

There is so much information out there, and a lot of it is confusing. So here is a basic guide on what screen to get and what to look out for.

Direct or Floor Stand Monitor Mounts:

It depends on the space you have available. If you have enough room, floor-standing mounts are the way to go. Direct mounts are great, but depending on various factors, you may experience monitor or TV shake during gameplay, which could be distracting. That’s why I also recommend floor-standing mounts; they’re much easier to adjust forwards and backwards.

Screen Size:

For a static simulator, I recommend 32-inch or 43-inch monitors (or TVs). This size provides the perfect level of immersion. 27-inch monitors are just too small and lack sufficient height and width. The goal of using triple monitors is to surround you and fully immerse you in the experience. If your sim rig has motion and you need to move it away from your screen, consider larger sizes, ranging from 50 inches to 75 inches.

Avoid 34-inch ultrawide monitors for triple setups, as they are essentially just wider 27-inch monitors. They may cause limitations in height and width, with part of the screen potentially being obscured by the wheel.

Ultra-ultrawide monitors like the Samsung G9 look fantastic and are great for immersive experiences, but be aware that they have the same height limitations as a 34" ultrawides. I recommend the new 57-inch ultrawide from Samsung—essentially a 32-inch monitor stretched wider. It offers more height and a better overall viewing experience.

Monitors or TVs:

It depends on whether you’re playing for fun or aiming to compete. TVs nowadays offer decent response times, and some even have gaming modes with high refresh rates. Lower response times are better, and higher refresh rates are also preferable.

If you’re on a budget, a good old Veon from your local warehouse will do the job. Personally, I used a 43-inch 4K TV and had no complaints. However, when I switched to a high-refresh-rate monitor, the difference was amazing! There was a noticeable improvement, although I’m unsure if it actually made me faster!

Brands:

We recommend anything Samsung they have a good range of products from budget to High end. But anything from your local tech store will do!
